What do Birth Doula Services look like?

Meet and Greet

We start with a free meet and greet. During the meeting we can get to know each other a little more and discuss any questions and concerns you and your family may have. The meet and greet can be done in person or virtually. Schedule a free meet and greet today.

During Pregnancy

Doula support can begin at any point in your pregnancy. You will be provided continuous emotional and informational support via texting, calling or video. You may also reach out at anytime if you have a question or concern.

Final Weeks

As your due date approches we can schedule one or two home/video visits to discuss your labor wishes and answer questions. These meetings are also great for partners to attend. They can also ask any questions they may have.
Starting two weeks before your due date until your baby has arrived I will be on call for you. Meaning you can contact me 24/7. I am here for you to answer any questions you have about your pregnancy or early stages of labor.

Once Labor has begun and you request me to be with you, I will stay with you until after the baby is born. During your labor I will provide you with dedicated support that is tailored to your needs and wishes. I am there to help you have a positive birthing experience. I also provide support or guidence to your partner or other labor support.

Early Postpartum

After the baby is born is when the postpartum care begins. I will stay with you for a short time after birth to help answer any questions you or your partner have about recovery, newborn care or feeding. We can schedule up to two, one hour postpartum sessions during the first two weeks after labor. If you would like to have more postpartum support I do offer Postpartum Doula Services.

Do you replace my partner?

Absolutely not! I am an addition to your team. Oftentimes partners feel lost and unsure of what to do during labor, I can work with your partner to help navigate that uncertainty.

Are you still helpful if I have a medicated or cesarean birth?

Yes! I support all types of births. My support is not only physical, I can also support you and your family with advocating, answering any questions and offering emotional support.

Is a Doula the same as a Midwife?

No, a midwife has been licensed in medical care and is able to deliver the baby. A doula is not certified in any medical care.

I have a Doctor or Midwife do I need a Doula?

Doulas are a great addition to your birth team. While Doctors and Midwives work more with the medical care and in a hospital the staff is changing shifts often. Whereas my support as a doula is exclusively dedicated to you and your family. I will stay with you through the whole labor and delivery.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! If you would like to do a payment plan please just let me know and we can work out a plan that works best for you. I also offer discounts and options for low income families. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Lacy.

Covid Updates: During our visits I will wear a mask and wash my hands frequently. I do offer virtual services as well. If you would like more information on virtual services please contact me.
