What do Birth Doula Services look like?

Meet and Greet

I offer a complimentary first meeting where we can get to know each other a little more and discuss any questions and concerns you and your family may have. The meet and greet can be done in person or virtually. Schedule your complimentary meeting.

During Pregnancy

Doula support can begin at any point in your pregnancy. After services are established, we will have a meeting to discuss how I can support you during pregnancy. Phone support is available via texting or calling to provide emotionally care and educational information at any time.

Final Weeks

As you enter your last few weeks we will get together to go over your birth plan in detail and answer any questions. This meeting is a perfect time for partners or other birth team members to attend. That way we are all prepared for for the big day. This is also a great time for them to ask any questions they may have.
Starting two weeks before your estimated due date until your baby has arrived I will be on call for you. Meaning you can contact me at any time and I will be ready to meet you.

Labor

As labor begins, we will communicate via phone until in person support is requested. I can join you at your home to continue laboring there or I can meet you at the hospital. During this time, I will provide you with dedicated care that is tailored to your needs and wishes. Along with providing you with support, I will offer guidance and support to your partner or other birth team members.

Early Postpartum

Immediately after your baby is born, your postpartum journey begins. I will stay with your family for a short time after birth to answer any questions that may arise about recovery, newborn care,  feeding or any other concerns. We can schedule up to two postpartum check-in sessions during the first week after labor. If you would like more postpartum support, I do offer Postpartum Doula Services.

F.A.Q.

Do you replace my partner?

Absolutely not! I am an addition to your team. Oftentimes partners feel lost and unsure of what to do during labor, I can work with your partner to help navigate that uncertainty.

Are you still helpful if I have a medicated or cesarean birth?

Yes! I support all types of births. My support is not only physical, I can also support you and your family with advocating, answering any questions and offering emotional support.

Is a Doula the same as a Midwife?

No, a midwife has been licensed in medical care and is able to deliver the baby. A doula is not certified in any medical care.

I have a Doctor or Midwife do I need a Doula?

Doulas are a great addition to your birth team. While Doctors and Midwives work more with the medical care and in a hospital the staff is changing shifts often. Whereas my support as a doula is exclusively dedicated to you and your family. I will stay with you through the whole labor and delivery.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! If you would like to do a payment plan please just let me know and we can work out a plan that works best for you. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Lacy.
